I obviously made a huge mistake when I joined Drowned In Sound. In the spirit of open mindedness I said I’d review anything…unfortunately I get given the dregs that nobody else wants. Which is lovely.
I put the Molina demo on and was left thoroughly uninspired. I put it one repeat for 2 hours and was left uninspired…but then it is decidedly uninspired music.
I mean imagine U2…or even OOOOOOOOOOOHTOOOOOOOOOO!…if Bono couldn’t hold a note for very long and sung flat at times. Imagine if they tried to be…ooooh, lets see….the **Smashing Pumpkins but were a bit scared of being too “heavy”, y’know? And so you end up with a pub band trying to be a bit emotional.
I’m sure their girlfriends could do better at the wrong time of the month.
