Redeye Jedi

Demo

Label:

Take one part Crackout, 2 parts Placebo and a sprinkling of guitar riffs borrowed from 90’s grunge/pop sensations such as Nirvana and Ash and you have a pretty vivid idea of what Nottingham lo-fi punkers, Redeye Jedi sound like.

The bands current demo comprises of four laid-back progressive rock therapy sessions. From the more upbeat ‘Poisons II’, to the Blink 182-esque ballad, ‘Wait By The Bedside’. Redeye Jedi team enthralling bouncy guitar riffs with sing-a-long melodies and heartfelt vocals (dodgy faux American accents aside).

Stuck on the end for my perusal, a live version of ‘These Two Lives’ demonstrates a more subdued, sensitive post-rock orientated approach to newer compositions with a very Rock Of Travolta style use of synthesised string sections and a remaining robust Placebo undertone.

Having just recently supported the mind-blowing Aereogramme, Redeye Jedi have the potential to be massive, and hopefully continued experimentation will aid the progression of a more unique overall sound; leading to nationwide success.
