North o' the border indie types Franz Ferdinand - apparently they're quite The Popular - are to play a series of Scottish dates in September. Low-key is a term you might want to apply to said dates.
The four-piece, currently writing their third album, call in at:
September 9 Stirling Fubar (08700 600 100 / www.pclpresents.com) 10 Inverness Raigmore (0871 2200260 / www.seetickets.com) 11 Fort William Ba Club (0871 2200260 / www.seetickets.com) 18 Dundee Fat Sams (08700 600 100 / www.pclpresents.com) 19 Aberdeen Moshulu (01224572876 / www.ticketweb.co.uk) 21 Portree Community Centre (0871 2200260 / www.seetickets.com) 24 Shetland Whiteness & Weisdale Hall (01595 692114 / www.seetickets.com)
Tickets for the shows are priced at £15 each (no more than four tickets per transaction, and two in Shetland). They're on sale from Saturday July 28 at 9am.
Franz Ferdinand's as-yet-untitled new album will be released early next year.
