Each month, DiS compiles a playlist featuring our tunes of the month and a few tracks to compliment this month's editorial. This compilation is usually about an hour-long but there's so much good stuff out that this month's playlist is over two hours long, and we've still probably forgotten some things we loved.
From the return of shoegaze heroes Slowdive to the discovery of the gorgeous sound of ambiproggypsychfolkdrone artist William Ryan Fritch, it's fair to say that May has been a rather splendid month. Throw in the incredible new album from Sharon Van Etten (which is coming out on Monday), combined with great new records from Swans, Lykke Li, Owen Pallett, Yann Tiersen and lots more, it's possible to say that May might set the high watermark for the year.
